Duration: 6 months (covering for maternity/paternity leave)
The Proposal Manager will be a key contributing member of Company Networking’s Request for Proposals (RFP) team responsible for working with account teams to complete customer RFPs/RFIs. In this role you will work closely with Company Networking’s Product Line Management, Technical Marketing, Product Marketing, and Engineering teams to generate responses not available in our boilerplate content. You will be the primary point of contact for the sales organization and will deliver the initial draft response in a timely manner.
We expect the Proposal Manager to communicate in a professional and credible manner, and to have excellent research skills as well as the ability to write persuasively and articulately. The main job duties involve researching, writing, and organizing proposal responses highlighting Aruba’s differentiated solution. Additional duties may include conducting interviews, reviewing products or services, creating strategies, and working with graphic designers.
Required Skills:
- Determine the RFP scope, goals, and objectives, working closely with the sales team to assess the best response, and clarifying the solution we are putting forward.
- Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval.
- Coordinating requirements and response with key contributors and Aruba subject matter experts, setting up meetings where appropriate and assigning accountability and ownership.
- Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
- Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and updating boilerplate with latest solutions and responses.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and product training.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to interact well with technical and non-technical resources.
- Deadline-oriented with excellent time management skills; ability to set priorities in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree programs in technical communication, journalism, communications, English or a related field are desired. A background in computer networking or IT is highly desirable.
- On the job proposal management experience is a key requirement with a minimum of 3-5 years in the role. Networking and wireless are preferred.
