The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Lab Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Irvine, CA. Details for the position are as follows:
Job Description:
**ONSITE: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm**
- Under the supervision of a Senior Technician or Chemist, the Technician will be expected to perform the following functions with a high level of initiative and independence:
- Testing of coatings. - Evaluate, collect and record data.
- Participates in organizing and performing experiments using established procedures while summarizing and reporting results in a laboratory notebook.
- Uses a computer to enter data/information including charts and tables for communication of project results/details.
- Involved in making cleaners/pretreatments/paints/coatings from chemical ingredients.
- Tests performance characteristics of coated substrates using established procedures.
Qualifications:
- BS (Chemistry preferred)
- may consider fresh graduates in CHEMSITRY – pro chemistry lab preferred (any other life science needs pro chemistry lab experience to be considered)
- 1-3 years of relevant pro CHEMISTRY lab experience (Chemist, Chemistry Lab, Chemical Technician, Lab Tech…)
- chemical manufacturing / working with chemicals daily / analytical chemsitry duties
- Laboratory / Data Reporting
- Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
- Lab Notebooks
- Ability to:
- understand and follow experimental protocols for preservation of data
- follow safe laboratory practices/protocols
- stand most of the day
- PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Testing of coatings / adhesives
- Experience making cleaners/pretreatments/paints/coatings from chemical ingredients
- Experience testing performance characteristics of coated substrates
Compensation: $23-33 per hour depending on education and experience
